a safe, compassionate space offering art therapy services

Hi, I'm Joanne! I'm a certified art therapist located in Toronto, ON. My path to art therapy has been shaped by an interdisciplinary background in the arts and social justice. These experiences continue to influence my work, deepening my commitment to equity, advocacy, creativity, and meaningful  connections. I believe that art has the power to help us make sense of our stories, strengthen our resilience, and reconnect us with ourselves and others.

As an Indigenous art therapist, my practice is rooted in values of respect, relationship, reciprocity, and holistic well-being. I honour the interconnectedness of mind, body, heart, spirit, and community, while recognizing that every person's healing journey is unique. I strive to provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive care where all individuals feel welcomed, valued, and respected. While Indigenous ways of knowing and being inform who I am and how I hold therapeutic space, I welcome people of all backgrounds and cultures into my practice.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time in nature, enjoying a good cup of coffee, music, and appreciating art in all its forms. I have a random appreciation for cars, and enjoy finding new ways to research. These moments remind me of the importance of balance, reflection, and connection, and they nourish both my personal life and my work as a therapist.
