Art Therapy for, Children, Teens, & Adults
I work with children, teens, and adults. Art therapy sessions are designed to assist individuals in processing and healing from emotional, social, personal, political, or traumatic difficulties.
I create a safe and compassionate space for individuals of all ages to explore their feelings and experiences, addressing issues such as trauma and generational trauma, depression, grief, and self-esteem building. Art therapy is designed to help cope with or reduce anxiety, stress, process trauma, build self-esteem and self-empowerment by externalizing these experiences through art. $152.00 per session (60 minutes).

The Art Therapy Process
The art therapy process uses psychotherapy and art as a tool to help face and process distress, trauma, or emotions. The goals in art therapy are to facilitate your healing process by providing new insights into your experiences, rediscovering parts of yourself that may have become lost, and to process difficult experiences without the pressure of verbalizing them.
Together , we honour recurring thoughts or emotional needs by tapping into the subconscious to help discover and work on what needs to be addressed in the moment.
Acknowledging the emotions that surface, we then use art as a safe container to hold your emotions and assist you in moving forward from experiences that don't serve you in your healing path.

Indigenous Clients
Colonization, residential schools, and systemic racism have led to generational trauma that hinders access to culturally grounded mental health supports, identity reclamation, and Indigenous ways of knowing being honoured. Because Canada's violent acts against Indigenous people affects Indigenous people's overall wellbeing, sliding scale/pay what you can options are available for Indigenous clients.

WHAT IS ART THERAPY?

Art therapy is the process of working with the client’s emotions or trauma in the moment using the combination of art and psychotherapy.
By applying the creative process and co-creating together, we tap into the client's subconscious in order to address what client's underlying thoughts or emotions bring attention to. Art therapy honours recurring thoughts or emotional needs that are asking to be addressed in the moment.
This process is facilitated with materials chosen to accommodate emotions or feelings, and can be done thorough drawing, painting, sculpture, poetry, collage, mindfulness, or even through creating art with nature. Art therapy can be a profound experience for those who don't feel comfortable talking about their issues, or who are looking for an alternative to talk therapy.
No artistic skills are required—just an openness to explore through art!
The art therapy process is about your personal process, rather than focusing on the final artwork.
